VICE PRESIDENT | Annaelle Zietz

"My name is Annaelle Zietz and I am the vice president of the Swiss Association of Young Neurologist. Through my work with SAYN I aim to further improve the education and working conditions of young neurologist and shade light to relevant topics. I am grateful to represent future neurologist and I will use my voice to advocate for a strong neurology through an open communication and engagement with colleagues and patients."


PAST PRESIDENT | David Schreier

“My name is David Schreier, I am the past president and founding member of the Swiss Association of Young Neurologists. Over a decade, the SAYN successfully established trainee-centred workshops and regular teaching courses. The SAYN spearheaded a Europe-wide mentorship programme (EAN mentorship programme) and, together with the SNS, remains prominently represented in the task force. We, as the SAYN Board, have also worked relentlessly to bring neurologists and neuro-specialities closer together to improve patient care - something I am still working on during my postdoc on a scientific level. I am deeply thankful to all the young and senior neurologists who have supported and contributed to the growth of the SAYN, I feel honoured to have been part of the SAYN journey, and look forward to its future success.”


SECRETARY | Katharina Jury

"My name is Katharina Jury. I have been an active SAYN member since 2021 and joined the SAYN board as secretary in 2023. I am currently a fourth year neurology resident at the Luzerner Kantonsspital. In my free time I enjoy reading, watching movies and television, skiing, and spending time with my dog. Through my involvement in the SAYN, I hope to help expand and strengthen the network of young neurologists in Switzerland and to improve and facilitate access to resources and educational opportunities for neurology trainees."


TREASURER | Giovanni di Liberto

Giovanni Di Liberto is a neurology resident with an MD-PhD and specialized postgraduate research training in autoimmune neurology. He served the Board of the Resident and Research Fellow Section of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN-RRFS), where he has also actively explored the impact of burnout among neurology residents across Europe. Since 2017, Giovanni has been a member of the SAYN (Swiss Association of Young Neurologists) and has served on the SAYN board as treasurer, contributing to the advancement of young neurology residents.


MEDIA OFFICER | Adnan Mujanovic

"Hey there - my name is Adnan Mujanović, the Media Officer of the Swiss Association of Young Neurologists! Through my position, I am dedicated to leveraging the power of social media to enhance communication and collaboration within the neurology community. By promoting educational initiatives and fostering a strong digital presence, I aim to bridge the gap between young neurologists, the broader medical community and the general public. This ensures that vital information and innovations are shared efficiently and effectively. My goal is to create an engaged, informed, and connected community that supports professional growth and improves healthcare quality."


EVENT OFFICER | Alice Accorroni

“My name is Alice Accorroni, and I am the Event Officer at the Swiss Association of Young Neurologists (SAYN). In this role, I am dedicated to utilizing the power of education to create a vibrant and supportive community within SAYN. Through SAYN, members have the opportunity to discover and connect with amazing colleagues, establish collaborations, and form lasting friendships.

As Event Officer, I organize educational events such as workshops and teaching courses that foster learning and professional development. I also coordinate SAYN Apero events in various Swiss hospitals, creating supportive networking spaces for young neurologists.

Additionally, I serve as the Chair of the Resident and Research Fellow Section (RRFS) at the European Academy of Neurology (EAN). Together with Adnan Mujanović, the Swiss representative at the RRFS National Representative Network, we ensure a strong connection between SAYN and the broader European neurology community.

My ultimate goal is to foster an environment where young neurologists can learn, grow, and support each other, ultimately advancing the field of neurology and improving patient care.”
 


MEMBER AT LARGE | Vincenzo Paolo Introcaso 

"My name is Vincenzo Introcaso; since November 2023, I have been the junior event officer of the Swiss Association for Young Neurologists. I am 31 years old and from Pavia, Italy. After completing my medical degree in my hometown, I started my neurology training in Germany, and I moved to Bern in March 2022. Through my position on the SAYN's board, I aim to organise interesting events where people can spend productive learning time in a fun and easy-going atmosphere. Passion, ambition, and curiosity for new challenges have always been the driving forces behind my decisions. I wish for a future in a university hospital where I can combine clinical activity with clinical research."


MEMBER AT LARGE | Florian William Sander 

"Hi, I'm Florian Sander, the SAYN's junior treasurer. Born and raised in Luxembourg, I did  my medical studies in Paris, and I am currently doing my neurology specialization as well as clinical research between Lausanne and Geneva. I am very excited to have joined the Swiss Association of Young Neurologists as a board member to try and have an impact on the betterment of our education and working conditions."
