Déjérine-Dubois Prize
A prize will be awarded for the best free communication presented at the GemSession of the Swiss Association of Young Neurologists in the field of clinical and basic research, as well as for the best poster presentation.
If less than 3 abstracts are submitted in one category of the Free Communications, both categories will be combined and a first prize of CHF 1,500 and a second prize of CHF 500 will be awarded.
Criteria
Neuroscientific work produced in Switzerland or during a research stay abroad by persons affiliated with a Swiss institution is considered eligible for the award. Invited lectures do not qualify for a prize.
Physicians working in Switzerland in further training or up to a maximum of 3 years after obtaining a specialist title qualify as prize winners. Non-physician neuroscientists qualify up to a maximum of 3 years after obtaining the PhD title. Established scientists (PD, Prof.) do not qualify. Only first authors will be considered as awardees, but co-authors will be mentioned in the award certificate and announcement.
Selection
The abstracts are selected by the scientific congress committee. In a first step, the committee selects the most interesting abstracts for the GemSession, which includes 3 presentations in the area of clinical research and 3 presentations in the area of basic research. In addition, 6 abstracts will be selected for a poster session. The scientific and linguistic quality of the abstract will be taken into account.
The jury, selected by the scientific committee and consisting of at least 2 experts, will assess the following quality criteria during the GemSession and poster viewing: Originality, scientific methodology, relevance, presentation style (presentation language English).
Award of the Déjérine Dubois Prize
The award ceremony takes place during the SNS annual conference.
The prizes will only be awarded if the respective prize winner is present. If this is not the case, the prize will go to the author with the next highest rating.
