Greeting from the president

Welcome to the website of the Swiss Neurological Society (SNS). The SNS is the national professional association of specialists in neurology working in practices and hospitals, as well as assistants training to become specialists in neurology in Switzerland.

Since its foundation in 1908, the SNS has always been committed to promoting brain health and improving neurological care in Switzerland. The SNS represents the interests of the profession, its members and patients in a forward-looking manner. With the Swiss Association of Young Neurologists (SAYN), it promotes the younger generation, and with the Women in Neurology (WIN) initiative, it offers a platform for the mutual exchange of experience, mentoring and the promotion of young talent.

As a networked and synergistic specialist society, it works together with its partners in a trusting, interdisciplinary and interprofessional manner. The strategic initiative for this is known as STRONG NEUROLOGY.

Together with the SNS commissions and task forces, the SNS Board develops strategies and projects for education and training, research promotion, professional policy and public relations. On our website, which is available in four languages, you will find an overview of the structures of the SNS and a wealth of other information. I would like to invite you to read the website and be inspired by our activities and commitments.

As SNS President, I consider myself fortunate to be part of such a committed network and team. Together we can overcome the challenges of neurology and help shape the future of brain health in Switzerland.

As a specialist in neurology in Switzerland, would you like to play an active part in what is happening in neurology, participate in professional policy discussions and regularly exchange ideas with colleagues? Then we look forward to welcoming you as a member of the Swiss Neurological Society (SNS).

I am now looking forward to an exciting and pioneering term of office as President of the SNS.

Kind regards
Prof Urs Fischer, MD
