Déjérine Dubois Prize
A prize is awarded for the Best Free Communication (Clinical Research and Basic Research) presented at the GemSession of the Swiss Association of Young Neurologists and for the Best Poster.
The prize money is CHF 1,000 in each case. If fewer than three abstracts are submitted in one Free Communication category, both categories will be combined and a first prize of CHF 1,500 and a second prize of CHF 500 will be awarded.
Criteria
Neuroscientific papers written in Switzerland or in the context of an international research visit by people who belong to a Swiss institution are considered eligible for the award. Invited lecturers are ineligible.
Doctors working in Switzerland and who are currently undergoing further training or obtained their specialist qualification no more than three years ago are eligible to apply for the award. Non-medical neuroscientists meet the eligibility requirements up to a maximum of three years after obtaining their PhD title. Established scientists (private lecturers, professors) are ineligible. While only the lead authors will be considered the prize winners, the co-authors will be mentioned in award certificate and announcement.
Selection
The abstracts will be selected by the Scientific Convention Committee. The first step is to select the most interesting abstracts for the GemSession, including three clinical research presentations and three basic research presentations. Six abstracts will also be selected for a poster session. The abstracts’ scientific and linguistic quality will be taken into account.
The panel – selected by the Scientific Committee and consisting of at least two experts – will assess the following quality criteria during the GemSession and when examining the posters: originality, scientific methodology, relevance and presentation style (presentation language: English).
Awarding the Déjérine Dubois Prize
The awards ceremony will take place as part of theSNS Annual Meeting.
The prizes will only be awarded if the prize winner in question is present. If they are absent, the prize will go to the author with the next highest rating.
