The SNS promotes interprofessionalism: a pioneering step for the future

04.07.2024

With its new mission statement, the Swiss Neurological Society is focussing on interprofessionalism and is now also enabling non-medical specialists to actively participate with immediate effect. Find out more about this milestone as a pioneering step and the new opportunities for associate membership of the SNS.

As part of its new mission statement, the SNS has enshrined interprofessionalism as a core value. This landmark decision means that not only doctors, but also other professionals working in the clinical neuro field in the healthcare sector can actively participate in the SNS's activities.

This step was endorsed by the community at this year's General Assembly, as a result of which this important innovation was enshrined in the statutes. With immediate effect, all interested specialists working in the clinical neurofield have the opportunity to apply for associate membership. This opening makes the SNS one of the first specialist societies to offer such inclusive membership - a milestone that marks significant progress in the history of the SNS.

Further details can be found in the new statutes of the SNS, which are available here.
